Epigallocatechin Gallatyl Glucoside (EGCG)

INCI Epigallocatechin Gallatyl Glucoside (EGCG)

Antioxidant Active Active Ingredients

What it is & what it does

Epigallocatechin Gallatyl Glucoside is a stabilized glucose-linked derivative of EGCG, the major antioxidant catechin associated with green tea.
WHAT IT IS: Epigallocatechin Gallatyl Glucoside is a modified green-tea catechin derivative used for antioxidant and skin-conditioning support.

WHAT THE SCIENCE SUPPORTS: The EGCG family has experimental literature exploring oxidative stress and inflammatory signaling. However, the glycosylated derivative is a distinct chemical form, and evidence for ordinary EGCG cannot automatically be treated as direct clinical proof for this modified ingredient in every serum.

IN A SKINCARE ROUTINE: Stability, delivery and the actual derivative used are central to an honest scientific explanation. Claims for one ingredient should not be presented as a proven result for every finished product.

Usage & cautions

Generally compatible with antioxidant routines; plant-derived ingredients can still cause sensitivity. It does not replace SPF.
Information approach Consumer-friendly summaries are informed by established cosmetic ingredient references such as INCIDecoder and Paula’s Choice Ingredient Dictionary, while avoiding turning ingredient-level evidence into medical claims about the finished product.
