Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate

INCI Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate

Active Vitamin C

What it is & what it does

Stable vitamin C derivative used to support antioxidant protection, brightness and a more even-looking tone.
Magnesium ascorbyl phosphate is a water-soluble, stabilized vitamin C derivative. It is used for antioxidant support and brightening while generally being easier to formulate and often gentler than pure L-ascorbic acid. Its activity and conversion in skin differ from pure vitamin C, so it should not be treated as identical gram-for-gram to ascorbic acid.

Usage & cautions

Usually gentler than pure ascorbic acid, but sensitive skin can still react. Use sunscreen when targeting pigmentation.
