What it is & what it does
Avocado Oil is a rich emollient oil containing oleic acid, linoleic acid and unsaponifiable compounds.
WHAT IT IS: Persea Gratissima Oil is avocado oil, a plant emollient containing a mixture of fatty acids and other lipid-soluble constituents.
HOW IT WORKS / EVIDENCE: It softens the skin and improves the oil phase of a moisturizer. Certain avocado constituents are studied experimentally, but that does not demonstrate that the topical oil independently regenerates dermal collagen. Its feel and pore compatibility depend on the formula and individual skin.
PRACTICAL ROLE: This is a conditioning oil, not a substitute for a retinoid, exfoliant or clinical treatment. The actual finished-product role and supporting evidence govern the claims that can be made.
