Ester form of vitamin A used for skin conditioning and retinoid-supporting anti-aging care.
Retinyl palmitate is an ester form of vitamin A. It must pass through several conversion steps before becoming retinoic acid, so it is generally considered milder and less potent than retinal or retinol. It is often included to support conditioning and anti-aging formulas rather than to act as the strongest retinoid in a routine.
Usage & cautions
Use sunscreen. Retinoid-sensitive users should introduce gradually; pregnancy caution applies to vitamin A derivatives.
Information approach
Consumer-friendly summaries are informed by established cosmetic ingredient references such as INCIDecoder and Paula’s Choice Ingredient Dictionary, while avoiding turning ingredient-level evidence into medical claims about the finished product.
