Salicylic Acid

INCI Salicylic Acid

Active Exfoliating Acid

What it is & what it does

Beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) that exfoliates inside oily pores and helps improve the appearance of congestion and blemishes.
Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) with oil-soluble behavior, allowing it to work within oily pore environments as well as on the skin surface. This makes it especially useful for congestion, blackheads and blemish-prone skin. Its exfoliating action can also improve roughness, but excessive use can cause dryness or irritation, particularly when combined with other strong exfoliants.

Usage & cautions

Can dry or irritate skin. Introduce gradually and avoid excessive layering with other strong exfoliants. Use sunscreen.
