What it is & what it does
Sodium Hyaluronate is the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid and a powerful water-binding humectant.
WHAT IT IS: Sodium Hyaluronate is the sodium-salt form of hyaluronic acid. It is a humectant, meaning it attracts and binds water in the upper skin layers. Sodium hyaluronate and hyaluronic acid are related but have different INCI names; neither is the same treatment as an injected dermal filler.
WHAT IT DOES: In a suitable cosmetic formula, this ingredient can improve surface hydration, skin softness and the temporary appearance of plumpness. Molecular size, concentration and other formula ingredients determine how it behaves. Its presence alone does not establish deep penetration or direct stimulation of collagen.
IN TRIPLE DOSE: Sodium Hyaluronate works with Glycerin, Panthenol and barrier lipids to support a comfortable moisturizing base for a formula also containing retinoids. It cannot guarantee that every user will avoid dryness from retinoid use.
