Core ideas before application
An oily nose and forehead with usually dry cheeks: which pattern fits?
Combination. The difference between facial zones is the defining observation.
What distinguishes oily skin from simply having a pimple?
A recurring pattern of shine and oily feel. Acne can occur in different skin types; this classification concerns oil pattern.
Skin anatomy: the epidermis sits above the dermis, with follicles and glands at different depths. Location explains a skincare target; it does not prove that a product reaches every layer.
Cheek tightness began only after a new cleanser. What does this tell you?
Review the cleanser before assuming the skin type changed. A new change can describe a temporary condition rather than the usual pattern.
Can oily skin also be sensitive?
Yes; reactivity and oil distribution are different. An oily pattern does not rule out stinging or irritation from products.
