Sunscreen with makeup, sweating and outdoor activity
Plan realistic protection under makeup and during sweat and water exposure.

If wearing makeup, apply sunscreen in adequate quantity to exposed face, ears and neck. A tiny dot under foundation does not reproduce the labeled SPF. Makeup products with SPF may be applied in quantities lower than the amount used in sunscreen testing.
Water resistance is time-bounded
Water resistance refers to tested conditions and labeled durations such as 40 or 80 minutes in some regulatory systems, not waterproof permanence. Reapply as directed after swimming, heavy sweating or towel-drying, and use clothing and shade.
Select for usability
A high-SPF formula that stings eyes or pills so badly you under-apply it may be a poor practical fit. Choose a tolerable format and follow instructions. Perfume or powder without a tested SPF is not a substitute for sunscreen.

Case: four-hour outdoor shoot in makeup
A user applies makeup before a four-hour outdoor shoot and wants a realistic reapplication plan.
Reasoned next step: Plan adequate application and practical reapplication plus shade and clothing.
The pitfall to avoid
Assuming a morning application guarantees protection all day.
